Jiro dreams of burgers

On the way back from Kappabanshi, the kitchenware district, Corrine and I were pretty exhausted and getting hangry. We passed by this place on the way back to the train station. Jiro Craft Burger and Grill. We decided to give it a try.

The signage was top tier. They had an English version of the menu, which was helpful. It had a good selection of burger options and fish & chips for Corrine. The atmosphere was a very laid back diner vibe with a projector playing Tom & Jerry cartoons on the back wall. Tom is a jerk, y’all.

I ended up ordering the Avocado Burger with a fried egg added.

It looked like a work of art when it came out. On the table, there was a cup with several curved, silicone items. Turned out these were burger holders to keep your hands clean while you ate the burger. Innovation at its finest, right there.

Corrine was kind enough to document the consumption process. Thanks, Corrine.

The result was pretty amazing. The tomato was too big for me, but the rest was thoroughly devoured. I tried to buy one of their t-shirts to commemorate the dining experience, but they didn’t have one my size. Bummer. For those wondering, Corinne really enjoyed her fish & chips. It set a bar for fish & chips on her trip that has not been surpassed yet.
