Made with whole bits!

Wow! Sometimes I even surprise myself.

Here is the new layout, as promised, with time to spare, no less.

I definitely took a few short cuts because I was starting to fall asleep and I wanted to get most if not all of this done in one go. If you see any quirks or have any comments, just add a comment to this post. The front page is all I’ve updated so far, so give me a couple hours for the rest of the pages.

Cheerio, Mate!

  1. For whatever reason it doesn’t like it when I put most of the same code in a different directory, even if i change all the urls. Thats why the side bar is chopped so short. Working on it.

This textarea is too wide too…

  2. Ok, I’m rolling back to the old layout.
There were things I clearly forgot to check or didn’t even think about.
Doesn’t line up right in 800×600 resolution.
    Doesn’t work right in IE.
Other sections don’t work because of directory placement.

  3. 800×600 working now.
    Works well enough in IE

gonna work on other pages now.

  4. Figured it out. Forgot to change the path directory of the major include file.

  5. the side bar is on the bottom in Firefox.

  6. I’m not sure what you mean by that. Firefox was the primary browser that I tested with and use on a daily basis. I even made sure it worked in 800×600 without.

  7. it didn’t work yesterday today it’s better, though the box I am typing in is wider than the big white box that the other posts are in.

other than that, when I stretch it across both monitors, the background repeats.

Other than that and that, it looks good! well you might want to pull the text boxes off the left border as well.

  8. Damn, I totally saw this textarea too and meant to come back to it. I’ll have to do that. I assume you mean the text boxes directly above this textarea?

Whats the resolution on the two monitors? I thought that background image was sufficiently wide enough for one monitor’s resolution. I did not take into account a second monitor. I’m not even sure it ever would have occurred to me actually. Thanks. I’ll have to widen that. If I ever get a chance there might be one more piece I want to stick at that top. One thing at a time though.

  9. I also see the ‘Leave a comment’ section below the comments themselves. I also am running dual monitors, both at 1280×1024, but I’m only viewing the page on one monitor and not stretched across both. Hope that helps.

  10. same here with the resoultion, the combined with is 2560. but I’ve gone as wide as 3200 before. but I really don’t view it stretched either. I just wanted to see if any of the formating or alignment would change if I did.

  11. I’ll see what I can to push it out to about 2600. I think it’d be overkill to do more than that. Of course if you’re viewing anything close to that, you’ll need a magnifying glass to read the posts.

  12. Reading this posts makes my me go cross-eyed…i have no clue what i am reading….lol

  13. not if you got a 21 inch flat screen.

which I don’t. but some people do!

  14. Actually I think I know someone with a 21″ Flat screen.

If your nice I’ll let you look at the decoder ring, Jess.

  15. Are you implying that sometimes I’m not nice?

  16. And what the the heck is a decoder ring?

  17. You had to buy the box of cheerios to get the decoder ring.

And by nice I mean if you’re super nice.

  18. Thank you for clearing that up for me. 🙂
