Ronnie Leaves NES

As of the End of Day on Friday February 25, 2005, Ron Nathan has left my former company.

I was there in person for the landmark event.

After I finished my work for the day around noonish, one of the sales girls, who was working in the mailroom for the day, tracked me down to catch up and show off her snazzy new laptop. When she had to go back to work, I meandered back out to the sales call center floor and visited my sales girl buddies. Of course, as soon as I was seen I was getting barraged with computer questions about their pcs. Once that settled down, I made the rest of my rounds, then went back upstairs.

Ron was in there giving Matt a bad time as always. I took this opportunity to get my camera and bobblehead out and start taking pictures. Ron was kind enough to pose with his likeness, even after I took a candid shot of the bobblehead on a table with Ron directly in the background. Such an awesome picture. I have to try to get those pictures posted as soon as I can. I pretty much spent the rest of the day running around with my camera and bobblehead taking pictures. Much to my chagrin, Jess, one of the absolute awesomest people ever, saw me get a picture of someone else and decided that was a good time to leave for the day since she wasn’t feeling well. So I took a picture of Bobblehead Ronnie sitting in her seat instead. Not as good, but it’ll have to do for now. She can’t evade the bobblehead forever!

The end of the day came quicker than I realized. Claude was pretty quick to make sure my account was once again disabled which kinda sucked but completely understandable. I can’t believe how swamped he is with work. Guess I never realized how much of an impact I had doing help desk. Its pretty clear they need someone there doing full time help desk instead of the part timer they hired.

I’d say I helped Ronnie finish taking the rest of his stuff out of his office, but I pretty much just watched. I’m helpful like that. He gave me a cool picture book called ‘Zoom’. Its way cool. I’ll try to explain it later if i remember. He also gave me the rest of the bobbleheads in his office. 5 more Bobblehead Ronnies added to the army and one Buddy Lee Dungeree edition for my buddy Dave since I don’t need a second one.

At night was the going away dinner at StoneForge or Stone-something. Its a pretty snazzy restaurant in the parking lot of a Wal-mart. Yeah, I don’t know. Its Middleboro. Anyway, I got a drink and sat with big Tim B., Tara, Jaime, and some others. Dinner, itself, was awesome. Chicken, Broccolli, and Ziti in an alfredo sauce served buffet style with some other stuff that was clearly to healthy for me, so I stayed away. Dessert was an Oreo Cheescake. It was ok. I’m not a big cheescake fan.

After the meal, the managers each went up one by one and gave a little speech about Ronnie, more or less, seeing who could embarass him the most. I wish Matt had gone because I think he would have the absolute best stories of anyone. All the same it was pretty funny. Steve Little, the sales manager, cleaned out his desk and gave Ron stuff that he didn’t need anymore including a bottle of Tylenol since he didn’t need it now that Ron was leaving. There were a number of other things too. Pretty funny stuff. I took more pictures there too.

I had 72 pictures from the day when all was said and done.

Not a bad day overall.

  1. First i would just like to make a correction. Two actually. One is that Stoneforge is NOT in the parking lot of Wal*mart. There is an entrance to the resturant via the Wal*mart parking lot but it is not the only entrance. And two neither are located in Middleboro. They are in Raynham.
And now i just wanted to say that even though i don’t consider myself very awesome i am glad to hear that Brad thinks so because he is a very awesome person. The End.

  2. I’ll never get used to hearing you called Brad.

  3. I’ll never get used to reading my name on Inter-net as Brad.
