I returned from Otakon 2007 on Monday. It was a blast as always with some new faces and plenty of familiar faces.
I put up a gallery of the photos here. I have to say that I definitely did not take nearly the number of photos I normally take. I’m not sure if its because I’ve been to a number of conventions now and i’m not as easily impressed or attentive to a lot of costumes now or if its because I just wasn’t getting out there looking for good ones like I have in the past. Either way, there were definitely some good ones all the same.
Brenna was there and on Sunday she dressed up as a character from Naruto. Her character, Karin, is on the same team as Sasuke, who I was cosplaying as. Here is a picture of the two of us in costume.
We all got to Baltimore on Thursday so we had a day to get settled and get our registration packets. Sam wasn’t able to make it at the last minute due to work. I told him that Brenna would be upset. Here’s the picture to prove it.
We went to Uno’s the first night for dinner. We figured that this would be the night to get into the Cheesecake factory or some other place that usually has a long line, but that was a no go. The other nerds had the same idea as us. So to Uno’s we went. There are a few pictures of us there in the gallery, but I won’t overload this post with those. After dinner, we headed to registration and picked up our packets. I got yelled at for taking a picture of this sign.
It was worth it.
We headed back to the hotel and some of us worked on costumes.
Others played with Rich’s Wii. (Thats right. I went there.)
I got some hilarious video of some Wii Boxing between Mas and aDam. I believe Brenna is including it in a small video she is making for the trip. I’ll post a link to it whenever she puts it up.
The next day we all got dressed up in our cosplay and headed to the convention. The line for the dealer room was vast and unending. Naturally we cut.
Some things to note about the convention:
The first and only time I have ever seen a Destroyer variant in person.
Reboot is not dead!
Juvenile humor never gets old.
Sub-zero enjoys frozen treats.
There is such a thing as Pokemon flavored snow cones and Miami Ice, number one snow cone!
And finally, here is the picture that most people look for, the group photo:
See you next year, Baltimore!
